The Sanderson Farms Championship is pleased to announce that Allen Exploration will serve as Presenting Sponsor for the tournament’s Wednesday Pro-Am to be played October 26, 2016 at The Country Club of Jackson.
“I am very proud to be a returning sponsor of the Sanderson Farms Pro-Am,” said Carl Allen of Allen Exploration, Dallas, TX. “Helping children has been a long time goal for our family and we are especially pleased to support the Friends of Children’s Hospital. The Sanderson Farms Pro-Am event continues to be a well organized program that offers duffers like me an opportunity to play with a real pro-golfer while also fulfilling a much larger goal of helping a worthy organization. Plus, this is the only PGA TOUR event held in the State of Mississippi!”
Carl Allen formed Allen Exploration, LLC in 2016 to pursue and fund a wide range of ventures that typically do not receive support from traditional investors, including emerging technologies in life sciences, agriculture, rare mineral mining, virtual reality, and neural engineering. His goal is to support a few ambitious individuals, business owners, or entrepreneurs who are pioneers engaged in cutting-edge research with the goal of making major discoveries.
“Sanderson Farms is very appreciative of Allen Exploration’s generous support of the championship and our philanthropic endeavors,” said Joe F. Sanderson, Jr., CEO and Chairman of the Board of Sanderson Farms.
Pro-Ams give amateur golfers the opportunity to play alongside professional players and engage with some of the biggest names in the game. This year’s Allen Exploration Pro-Am will be played in a walking, shamble format, and the Pro-Am teams will be comprised of three amateurs and one PGA TOUR professional.
“Something new for 2016 we are excited to share is that we are offering free admission to the Wednesday Allen Exploration Pro-Am,” said executive director Steve Jent. “Anyone interesting in attending this event will still need to present a ticket, which can be ordered through our website or picked up at Will-Call in the Northpark Mall parking lot.” Wednesday Pro-Am tee times will be at 7:30 a.m. and noon.
