The Sanderson Farms Championship will once again host Folds of Honor Friday on October 3, by bringing the National Anthem to golf and honoring U.S. service members and first responders. Fans are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to show their support. This annual event is part of a PGA TOUR initiative in partnership with Folds of Honor.
Before second-round play begins, a ceremony will take place at 6:45 a.m. on the croquet courts at The Country Club of Jackson. The program will include an Honor Guard presentation. Guests attending will receive commemorative ribbon pins and are encouraged to wear patriotic colors.
“Folds of Honor Friday has become one of the most meaningful traditions at the Sanderson Farms Championship,” said Steve Jent, Executive Director of the Sanderson Farms Championship. “It is a privilege to honor the families of our nation’s heroes and share this experience with our fans, players, and partners.”
Thirteen educational scholarships will be awarded in Mississippi through Folds of Honor’s national program. These scholarships benefit the children and spouses of fallen or disabled service members and first responders. The number 13 represents the folds in the ceremonial folding of the American flag.
For the 2024-25 academic year, Folds of Honor awarded a record-setting 10,000 scholarships nationwide, but the need remains great. About 7,000 fully-qualified students did not receive full funding because of a lack of financial resources.

Fans are also invited to visit The Outpost, an open-air hospitality pavilion on the 10th Green where military and first responder units from across Mississippi gather each year. Attendees include active-duty, reserve, and retired service members, veterans, firefighters, police, emergency personnel, and 911 dispatchers.
