Tournament officials announced today there is still time to be a corporate sponsor for the 2016 Sanderson Farms Championship, to be played October 24-30 at The Country Club of Jackson.
Since its inception in 1968, Mississippi’s PGA TOUR event has raised over $11 million for Mississippi charities, primarily Friends of Children’s Hospital, a nonprofit organization created to support Children’s of Mississippi. Since 1994, Century Club Charities has served as the host organization for the event, raising a record-breaking $1.5 million in 2015 alone.
“Sponsorships are the cornerstone of a successful tournament,” said executive director Steve Jent. “The corporate and private support we received in 2015 helped raise more than $1.15 million for Friends of Children’s Hospital and many other charities throughout Mississippi. Over the years, the commitment these organizations have shown our event is extraordinary and illustrates what a wonderful market Mississippi is for both professional golf and philanthropy.”
“We are excited about the variety of hospitality opportunities we have to offer this year, ranging from climate-controlled chalets and skyboxes for entertaining, to a table for four on “The Porch”, a new open-air venue on the 9th Green to gather and enjoy the company of friends,” added John Mercer, Director of Sales. “We also have several Pro-Am team sponsorships up for grabs for anyone looking to play with friends/clients alongside a PGA TOUR player.”
A complete listing of private or shared hospitality venues and opportunities can be found HERE. The tournament staff will be looking to finalize additional sponsorships in the upcoming weeks to ensure the success of this year’s tournament.
The 2016 Sanderson Farms Championship will feature a purse of $4.2 million with $756,000 going to the winner. The Golf Channel will broadcast 12 hours of primetime coverage from Thursday’s opening round to the trophy presentation on Sunday. Two Pro-Am tournaments will take place during the week, The John Soules Foods Pro-Am on Monday, October 24, and the Allen Exploration Pro-Am on Wednesday, October 26.
